Villains Take Over: Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage Join Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

The roster for the ultimate comic book showdown just got a lot more dangerous. During the latest gameplay presentation, Sony and Arc System Works officially revealed three iconic villains for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Master of magnetism Magneto, the psychotic Green Goblin, and the symbiotic murderer Carnage are all bringing their chaotic energy to this highly anticipated 2D fighter.

Legendary Villains Bring Unique Comic Accurate Styles

The addition of these three powerhouse characters reinforces the game's promise to pull from every dark corner of the Marvel Universe. True to the source material, Arc System Works has designed each fighter with a highly distinct archetype that reflects their comic book powers.

  • Magneto: A master of space and zoning, Magneto utilizes his magnetic abilities to control the battlefield from afar, manipulating metal and pulling opponents right into his optimal range.
  • Green Goblin: Built for speed and aerial superiority, Norman Osborn relies on explosive pumpkin bombs, glider-based mobility, and rapid-fire strikes to overwhelm defenses from above.
  • Carnage: An absolute rushdown nightmare, Cletus Kasady brings an aggressive, highly unpredictable fighting style, using shape-shifting symbiote tendrils to relentless pressure opponents up close.

Arc System Works Delivers Classic Four on Four Team Mayhem

For fans of old-school tag-team fighters, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is shaping up to be a dream come true. Developed by the fighting game royalty at Arc System Works, the masterminds behind the Guilty Gear franchise, the game features chaotic 4-on-4 team battles.

Players can expect fluid character-switching mechanics, devastating assist attacks, and gravity-defying aerial combos that pay direct homage to classic Marvel fighting games of the past. The initial launch roster will feature 20 distinct fighters, joining previously announced heavy hitters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Storm, Wolverine, Doctor Doom, Hulk, Black Panther, and Ghost Rider. Extensive post-launch DLC packs are also already in the works to expand the roster even further.
